Django girls Port Harcourt took place on the 14th October - 4th November(4weeks-every Saturday workshop instead of the normal 2 days workshop) at Yelocode(11 Elekahia Road, Port Harcourt). The workshop began on 14th October with the installation party.

In total, we had 38 applicants and 25 attendees. The workshop began every Saturday at 10am to 4pm, with a 30-minute break. The first day the participants were guided by their coach to install the various software that would later be used, thus Python and Django and also creating the virtual environment. That same day they began developing with HTML & CSS, the second week we taught the participants Python programming language and the third week, we taught them Django framework.

During the planning and execution stage of the workshop, we encountered some challenges which could have disrupted the delivery and standard of the workshop but with the help of the coaches, we were able to overcome. we had a successful workshop.
And to make it more fun for some of the participant, we sponsored their trip to the biggest developers festival (Devfestse 2017) of the year which they never regretted their attendance to that event.

To round it up, the workshop was epic and we the organizers are very happy to have been part of it, and we could not have done any of these without the priceless support from the Django Foundation, Python Software Foundation, Women Techmakers Ph, Olotusquare, KelaJuice, KultureBoss and Google Nigeria. Thank you so much. Your financial support and other forms of support made it possible for us to organize the workshop successfully, which has helped shape the lives of 25 ladies(even if they didn’t all attend till the last day) and some have volunteer to be coach in next year Django girls workshop in Port Harcourt to teach others . And Above all, I thank God for granting my coaches and I the strength and wisdom to put this workshop together.
