This is a post in our Your Django Story series where we highlight awesome ladies who work with Django. Read more about it here.

Emylle Chrystinne da Silva Euzébio is fifteen years old and is a student in her second year in high school. At age eleven, she finished a course as a web designer. More recently, she finished a Professional Programmer course in her city Maceió. She gives thanks to her mother, who introduced her to computing when she was just two years old.
Emylle Chrystinne is a very curious person who is always looking for new ways to learn. She is proud of her self-taught background, though she regrets that often one needs a degree to be recognized for their accomplishments.
She was nominated to share her story after organizing Django Girls Maceió, in Brazil. Follow her on Twitter.
Out of curiosity! I read about programming and was interested to know more, so I did research and studied. I loved what I learned, so I decided to organize a Django Girls workshop in my city. I am surprised every day of the learning process.
I am a student, so I am always looking for something new to learn. I don’t really consider myself a programmer, but an enthusiast who wants to learn more every day and become a strong professional.
To be able to code, you need to be able to understand how a programming language works. Coding means giving the computer commands that it can understand. Like learning to read or use grammar, it starts with learning rules. Many experts and scholars point out that the lack of programming techniques will be the illiteracy of the future.
Actually, I just started using Django and I loved it! I started learning the Django web framework in the Django Girls workshop that I helped organize.
I’m currently planning and organizing the second DjangoGirls of my city. My hope is that we reach even more women with this second event. I am also working to organize a PyLadies group. Finally, I am struggling to get a junior development position.
Much of what is good about life comes as a result of hard work and determination. I’m proud to have had opportunities to help others learn and accomplish their own goals, while working on my own.
I want to discover new possibilities and see how far I can go!
I love surfing the internet, meeting new people, unravelling mysteries, cats, and anime. I also love the violin. I started a course to learn how to play, but I stopped. I think it’s beautiful, though. I also like singing and dancing.
Do not be afraid to learn what you do not know or have never heard of. Be curious, search for new things, dream of impossible things, because: who knows? You may find a way to make those things possible.
As a participant in a workshop, the key word is “inspiration”. If you already know a little about programming, you will be inspired by the experience to keep learning – both from the material and the wonderful people you meet.
And if you don’t know anything at all about programming? That feeling of “not knowing” will quickly be replaced by the amazing experience of something new and exciting. Something – it turns out – that is not as scary or difficult as you first thought!
Thank you so much, Emylle Chrystinne!!
